Lowering your consumption of energy and natural resources is more than just good for the environment; it's a great way to save money.
HP is committed to providing technology that helps you reduce the cost of printing at home. The
HP Eco Solutions program makes it easier than ever to identify HP innovations, products and services that can reduce your environmental impact and save you money while delivering the high quality you expect.
Boost energy efficiency to drive savings
Today's HP inkjet all-in-ones and printers use less energy than previous models, helping you lower your home energy bills. When you are using an HP printer or all-in-one, you can be confident you are saving money, because the products themselves are designed to consume less energy. HP also works to reduce the energy consumption of a product while it is not being used. Many HP printers and all-in-ones automatically move into sleep mode to reduce power consumption after brief periods of inactivity. And most require less than 1 watt of power in off mode.
When considering new products, always look for the ENERGY STAR® logo — the most recognized symbol for energy efficiency in the U.S. ENERGY STAR qualified HP printers deliver efficiency gains over non-qualified standard models, from 35 to 55 percent for HP inkjet printers and all-in-ones, respectively.
Three new
ENERGY STAR qualified HP printers highlight the savings potential, using less energy than predecessors — the HP Deskjet D2600 printer uses 30 percent less, the HP Photosmart C4600 all-in-one printer uses 32 percent less, and the HP Deskjet F4400 printer uses 55 percent less energy.
Conserve resources, spend less
HP has a history of innovation, including manufacturing products designed specifically to reduce energy use, save paper and recycle easily. The HP Deskjet D2600 embodies that spirit. Not only is the printer ENERGY STAR qualified, it decreases power consumption by 30 percent compared with predecessors. The printer is also made from 50 percent recycled plastic material, making it a great choice for reducing your environmental impact. And the HP Deskjet D2600 printer — along with the HP DeskJet F4400 and HP Photosmart C4600 printers — uses
HP 60 inkjet cartridges made of 50 percent recycled plastic in the cartridge body.
HP offers many features that enable you to reduce paper consumption, such as automatic or manual two-sided printing.
HP Smart Web Printing is another example. This simple tool guides you in printing only the web content you need, saving you paper, ink and money.
1 And HP Photosmart printers, together with HP photo papers featuring Auto Sense technology, help you avoid printing mistakes that result in higher costs from reprints.

Reuse and recycle
An important part of the cost-savings story is the HP return and recycling program. HP can help you recapture value from existing equipment by trading it in for new HP technology.
The HP Planet Partners program, available in more than 50 countries and territories, offers recycling and convenient return options for recycling computing hardware and print cartridges.
Taken together, these benefits show that you can reduce the environmental impact of home printing, which translates into cost savings. HP products are at the forefront in helping you save resources and lower waste. That can make it easier for us all to make a difference.
