The HP Photosmart C5380 was voted the best inkjet all-in-one (AIO) printer in the recent CNET Asia Readers' Choice Awards — set up to reflect the technical excellence of products that emerged for the year as voted by readers; beating other notable models from established competitor, Canon.

The printer market is currently saturated with AIOs and it is more difficult for manufacturers to make their products stand out among the competition. HP's latest Photosmart range may be hard to differentiate from its rivals at first glance, but they come with attractive price tags and a useful colour LCD and five-ink system that make home and home office printing a convenient and cheap affair — as attested to by consumers from around the world.

PC World has named TouchSmart IQ770 one of ‘Today’s Most Innovative Products’. The IQ770 is the first all-in-one PC on the market to boast a touch-screen display.

With a 4.5 out of a possible 5 rating, the HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Notebook was awarded the ‘Editor’s Choice’ by Laptop magazine.

In features and performance, the HP Pavilion Elite m9040n is worthy of its ‘Elite’ moniker, yet is much more populist in price. Given a 4.5 out of 5 rating, the Elite wins the ‘Editor’s Choice Award’. With media drive bays, quad-core performance and a nice price, the Elite is a top pick.

CNET recently honoured the HP Pavilion Slimline s3200t with its ‘Editor’s Choice Award’ and stated that thanks to its HD DVD/Blu-ray hybrid optical drive and its strong overall configuration, it offers value for money. “It outclasses every other HD-equipped system we’ve seen so far. For a living room PC and complete HD format flexibility, this is the system to buy.”

HP was chosen by Working Mother Magazine as one of the top 100 companies to work for in 2008. In addition to grooming leaders (women were appointed to a third of all available corporate executive positions last year), HP offers employees flex time and home office options, fitness centres and online training to help with stress/burn-outs, setting limits and delegating assignments. Also, salaried employees have unlimited sick time.

Fortune Magazine voted HP an environmentally responsible ‘Green Giant’ for HP’s commitment to the environment. HP’s green efforts include recycling the equivalent of 600 jumbo jet airliners in 2006 alone and designing energy-efficient, environmentally sound products, services and operations.

Together with World Wildlife Fund-US, HP aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from HP operating facilities worldwide and hopes to educate and inspire others to adopt best practices, and use HP technology in conservation efforts around the world.

The Association of Support Professionals listed HP's consumer support website on its 'Ten Best Web Support Sites', and recognises the site's Automatic Product Detection Tool, HP Technology Centre and HP Printer Check for making online help faster and easier.

HP has received certification from the Service and Support Professionals Association (SSPA) for providing superior technical support and services to business notebook and desktop PC customers in the Americas region. HP is currently the only PC manufacturer with the afore-mentioned certification.

HP earned the Excellence in Service Operations certification for 2009 following a comprehensive evaluation of its phone, field service and web service operations for business PC customers. Auditors from the SSPA, together with J.D. Power and Associates, also conducted rigorous reviews of the policies and procedures used in managing HP's support organisation.

Audits of HP's support operations evaluated a wide range of industry best practices including executive commitment, talent management, support tools and technology, and operation metrics compared to industry best practices.

HP's two SSPA STAR Awards earned HP an induction into the SSPA's Hall of Fame — a lifetime award given as special recognition to companies that have won five SSPA STAR Awards, and an achievement so far reached by only 10 companies in the Association's history.
